Wigston Magna Community fridge seeks volunteers

The Wigston Magna Community fridge is based at the Childrens centre. The community fridge is a food sharing hub where surplus food from local supermarkets, bakeries and other businesses is made available to anyone that wants it – Free of charge, no questions asked. The Community fridge has been open since December 2018 and also acts as a location for swapping baby and children’s clothes.

Children’s Centre staff have worked hard to get the Community fridge set up. Local businesses are regularly donating food – and local people are taking it away and making use of it. However, a small team of volunteers are needed to help keep things running smoothly; by assisting with the collection of food donations and making sure that the fridge is clean and well maintained.
